I'm not a violent person and we never allow yelling in our house. But tonight the stars aligned...  Oklahoma bedlam came to Charlotte television. I haven't watched a bedlam game in years. Years. That may be a good thing because tonight I have heard myself yelling at the tv a *teensy* little bit. Yelling phrases like "throw him down", "tear him up", and GET HIM!!!"  The kids said, "Mom- why are you so growly?" Growly? No worries, it's just bedlam dear.

But honestly, must they play Boomer Sooner every freaking time those boys do the slightest little thing? Puh-lease. Just because OSU has a crappy fight song...how does that fight song go anyway?

So the game continues...Brad watches from upstairs. I watch from downstairs. This ensures a happy marriage after the 4th quarter.

I promise I'll keep my yelling to a minimum.

UPDATE- interceptions release me from that promise. stinking freaking piece of crap game.
UPDATE 2- Freaking play the entire game. I don't care who it is. I don't care what the score is. Play the  whole game.  Seriously. Other than that- good game!

Who Knew

Who knew that cheesy little show I would catch every now and then on TLC would turn into the biggest drama since "who shot JR?" By the way...who did shoot JR? I must've been too young because I really don't even know!

Who cares why Jon stopped production- Just be glad he did!

Another Classic

I think Tim is the only one that could make Carol lose it.

Remember This

We have WKRP set for DVR just hoping to catch this episode.

Hmmm. Interesting.

Whether you like Rosie or not (for the record, I do) this is quite interesting. I've heard Rosie speak on the incidents of 9-11 before and while I've never been one for the conspiracy theories, she does raise many questions...

My Kind of Recycling

I am a phras-a-holic. Seriously, I am bad about picking some random saying and stashing it in my head to use years and years from now. I often don't realize I am doing it. If I've ever ripped off a phrase of yours, here is your credit- minus the formal APA format.

*whatthecrapever*- to my knowledge I made this one up all by myself. If I ripped you off with this one, please let me know because I truly believe I made it up myself.

*sad day for you*- clearly this one came from Tresher. I heard her use it on a kid a couple years ago and it's been mine ever since. I probably say this at least once a day.

*multiple*- I got this from Erin. I never used to use "multiple" as an adjective but now it seems to be my adjective for mulitple situations.

*hippy chick*- I don't know where I got this but I've had it a loooonnng time.

*working up a mad*- That's another teacher saying. I got it from Barb.

*that's right*- I got this from my hair stylist. I use it to make you feel better. For example, you say, " I know I shouldn't eat this but it's just one huge box of cookies..." I will respond, "that's riiiight" to make you feel good. Listen for it...I use it without realizing it.

*a hot mess*- This I got from Ashley but I've heard other southerners say it. Apparently it means that you look horrible.

*Freaking A*- Believe it or not this one came from Brad. I know it isn't very nice but he says it. Alot.

*Tresher also taught me another one that isn't very polite and I don't use it...although I think it often times and wish I could.

I think that's it....any phrases you've learned from me?

Countdown 4 NK

We are entering the final 10 day stretch before the long awaited (in my world) New Kids concert. Just so you know, I will be featuring music from their long awaited (in my world) new album entitled, "The Block." If you aren't a NK fan you may want to have the volume down for the next several days...

As I prepare for the concert event of the millennium (yes, in my world) here are some thoughts I ponder-

I am slightly regretting not getting those floor tickets. I held back because Maci is coming and I was slightly concerned about her safety. Now I'm thinking having an 11 year old on the floor may have earned us some extra attention from the boys. Oh...did I say that out loud?

Secondly, I admit that I am a little annoyed that this concert appears to be one of the very few that Natasha Beddingfeld isn't opening for them. I would have liked to have seen her too.

Lastly and most importantly, please don't burst my bubble. Yes, I have heard the *rumors* about J-o-n being g-a-y but I have been in denial this long and it's a happy place to be. Leave me in my denial for at least the next 10 days.

No Chinese For Me

Give me a break. Even Maci and I know enough about gymnastics to tell these judges are quite bias and inconsistent in their gymnastics scoring. Combine that with stories like this and you've got scandal my friends. I think I will boycott Chinese food for awhile to show my disgust. Think a week will do the trick?

Amazing Grace

I'm sitting here watching the Chapmans on Larry King Live. I'm amazed by their strength and composure. They are speaking the Word. I believe people are hearing it- some for the first time. And those kids. Bless those kids. Amazing. That is the word for the night. Amazing- and amazing grace.

Do I Really Know You?

How did anyone stay in touch 20 years ago? Everything I know about everyone comes from the internet. Between MySpace, blogs, FaceBook, and reunion sites there isn't anyone you can't track down. I've recently found some of the kids I went to kidergarten with. It's crazy to think we all started with Mrs. Prebble in the prefab. We all learned our letters from the "letter people", we all went on to Leeper Middle, and none of us thought it was strange that our mascot was a red and white zebra. But here we are 25 years later scattered throughout the world and I read blogs and realize that although I've "known" these people for more than 25 years I really know nothing about them. That tells me something. I should take more time to learn about people. I should listen when I hear. Everyone has a story. They aren't all like mine but they are all worth hearing.

The Boys are Back in town

The boys are back in town. October 30th. Tickets on sale in less than 12 hours. Ready. Set. Scream! Maci is just as excited as I am. She looked at pictures and said, "Well. They're not kids anymore." Neither am I Maci. Neither am I.

No Words

There are no words that cover the loss Steven Curtis Chapman and his family have experienced in the death of their 5 year old daughter. Read the story here and please be praying for this sweet family- not just today and tomorrow but for the days, weeks, and months to come. Express condolences and meet Maria through a family video blog here.

I Was Wrong

I was wrong about my "Syewho?" comment. Syesha has rocked the stage the last couple weeks. I can hardly wait for tonights show....it's gotta be time for Jason to go home and wash that mess of a head. Of course David Cook is still my fav but I had to add Proud Mary to the blog in Syesha's honor. This idol thing is kinda fun...not sure why I never watched before.

Gonna Do It

I'm hereby pledging to vote this week on American Idol. (somebody remind me please) I just love David Cook's version of Always Be My Baby (playing now) that I have to give that guy a vote. It is free isn't it? I've already spend .99 on the guy downloading the song from itunes (don't tell Brad). He is still a little upset about the New Kids downloads- like that was even a choice. Come on now. If he were to be honest though, I don't think it is the .99 that bothers him but the fact that he now has New Kids on his ipod (don't tell him I told you!).

Weighing In on the Idols

For the first season ever I am actually keeping up with American Idol. Brad claims he has no interest and won't participate in any Idol discussion. However, Ashley is a long time Idol buff and we have frequent discussions on the contestants. If we are a good sample of the American Public-the top 3 will be David, David, and Carly.

For any other Idol Nerds out there, here is a jist of tonight's conversation- feel free to add your own 2 cents.

Brooke- Ashley says she talks too much and can't take a compliment. I like her but am concerned that if she releases an album it will be a little too tree hugger for my taste.

Kristy- We both agree she should have been gone a long time ago.

Jason- Ashley says she likes something about him and he kinda looks like John Travolta. I just can't get past the hair. There's gotta be critters living in that mess.

David Cook- Ashley says he is her favorite and she especially likes him since he joined the hair club for men and got that nasty receding hairline taken care of. I agree that he is the best...I never noticed the whole hair issue...I'm not that observant.

David A- Ashley says she had to get over his lip licking thing but now thinks he is kinda sweet. I say he is sweet but a little too sunshine for me. Again, never noticed the lip thing.

Carly- Ashley likes her. She calls her rather talented yada yada. I say she is ok but I did notice the tattoo and I don't like it. Wear some sleeves Carly.

Syesha- Ashley says simply, "Whitney wannabe" but not. I say, Syewho?

Admittedly the highlight of each show is to see if Paula could pass a sobriety test...and I guess it's only fair to add that I've never actually voted for anyone. Is that bad?

Buble at Bobcats part 2

The little slide show would not do the Michael pictures justice. You can see them here instead. Be sure you click to make them big! Did I mention how close we were??? Jess, I saw the sweat fly but none of it landed on me. I was ok with that... Even though he is a cutie, sweat is still sweat! And he IS a cutie, such an entertainer. I did get some video on my camera but I don't know how to post that here...I'll investigate later possibly.

Buble at Bobcat

Through a series of random and crazy events I ended up getting to go see Michael Buble in concert tonight. I literally did not have the tickets until a few hours ago AND we ended up with floor seating! What an unbelievable- AWESOME night! We got some amazing pictures I will have to upload tomorrow. Here are just a couple...taken without zoom- he really was THAT close!
