At the "old house" I put all the kids' artwork on the walls of my closet. In the "new house" I'm hanging it all in the laundry room. I think it is adorable.
As a side note, I tried to call this space "the mudroom"- just because I've always wanted a mud room I guess. Also because there is a sink in there and I think that qualifies it as a mudroom. But the name didn't stick. No one else called it "the mudroom." And when I would say something was in the "mudroom" they would always say, "Huh? You mean the laundry room?" So there you have it. Cute art on the wall of the mudroom laundry room.
Finally. A way to post my kids without breaking any privacy laws. Here are 17 of my 21 loves from this year. 1 was absent and 3 were too cool to participate. Sad day for them. On this particular day we were celebrating flip flops. We do that sort of thing in my class. It wasn't even my idea actually. But still. We do that sort of thing in my class. We do educational things too of course.
I'm preblogging for the next few days. So far I have completed the entry below about Gracie, one on my class, a crafty idea, and one for Aaron's graduation. They'll post over the course of the next few days. Is this cheating? Maybe. But at least I will make my newly sanctioned blogging quota for the month. I've been such a blogging slacker lately.
PS- Don't you just LOVE my new chalkboard stand thingy?! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Found it on clearance at Kirklands Home. I almost bought two. I don't need two but I love it that much! It's two sided by the way. (Kirklands off Providence Rd. by On the Border...hurry...go get one!)
Andy remained "single" for awhile as his heart mended after Stacie's wedding but you know the song....you can't keep a good man down. The love bug has bit him again. This new love isn't quite as tall but she is a brunette. She also has quite a sense of style. These are the deep qualities Andy looks for. He picked her out of the kindergarten crowd early on in the year and has remained loyal ever since. Bless her little heart she is smitten as well.
I'm saving this picture...just in case I need it for a wedding slide show someday.
Happy Anniversary to us. Happy Anniversary to us. Happy 15 year anniversary dear us. Happy Anniversary to us. I couldn't let this day pass without some type of post. However, we are waiting on a new cord for our wireless stuff (how ironic that we need wires for our wireless). Anyway, a proper anniversary post will follow with pictures and music when internet access is fully restored. I love you Brad...15 years...seems so long yet to quote your "favorite" artist, "we've only just begun."
I just spent an hour plus tearing up my hands (and fingernails) trying to thin our monkey grass. During the process I decided it should actually be named "Pain in the A$$ Grass." Brad said that probably wouldn't sell as well.
I've been a little quiet lately. Not in real life...just in blog life. I'm never quiet in real life! I've thought of many things to post but most of it seems trivial after my last post. However, a very very important little guy made his entrance into the world since my last entry. Welcome Cade Matthew!!! Maci and I can't wait to see you in a couple weeks. (and finally kiss those cheeks!)
Jana didn't have the easiest labor dealt to her. Actually, she endured alot of pain, alot of frustration, and a lot of plain ol crap BUT she did a fabulous job and I am so very proud of her. The end result was a healthy momma and a healty baby. Who could ask for more? I gotta say this was one of the very hardest times for me to be 1000 miles away.
School is winding down which means we are CRAZY busy with lit cards, math summatives, DRAs, writing assessments, non negotiable lists, monster spelling tests, and cummulative folders. Here in Union County we believe is assessing, assessing, and then assessing some more. As big of a pain as it is, it is also very rewarding to compare the data. These kiddos have learned sooooo much which means I must have taught them a thing or two. ;) Now it's time to show off with our Kindergarten Celebration. (my favorite day of the year!!!)
I'm still walking around here saying, "I love this house." I don't want that to come out wrong...it's just that truly...I love this house! Typically the new house giddiness wears off after a few weeks but not with this one. Sure we love all the space but I think what I love the most is all the color. If you don't LOVE your house, figure out why and change it. Please don't be afraid of paint...that could be a whole entry in itself....and I think it will be....
Here is the song for the day....must be listened to LOUD...
It's been one of those times lately. As I am praying for the total healing of one of my friends and for a family that just lost their child, I am struggling to speak the Words of faith. I often go to music- music that speaks the Word so I can get that tune in my head and sing it over and over. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word. Nothing is better than memorizing and speaking the scriptures of promise. But this song is the one I am also replaying over and over right now. I hope you will too.
Agree with me in prayer. He is. He was. He always will be. His promises are true.
I disabled my playlist for awhile. Use the popup links after this video to listen to other Mark Schultz songs- like Love Has Come.
Before the move, I scavenged the internet for decorating / organizing ideas. I even created a folder for the saved pictures. Fabulous idea. If only I had remembered. By accident I came across the folder tonight and thought, "what's this?" Yes. I really did think that. My ADD seems to be getting worse these days as does my short term memory.
Anyway....where was I....oh yes....so I found these pictures of fabulous ideas. I especially love the shutters for mail holders. I still might implement this. You know I actually saw shutters for sale at my favorite consignment store last week when Kendra was here. I didn't buy them. Dadgumit.
Here are some more ideas I'm really going to try hard to remember...these are easy little summer projects.
This is a simple little blog about things that make me smile, cry, laugh, or just think. Just a way for me to think out loud. I rarely spell check and certainly don't try to be politically correct. I'm just honest. Real. Random. Sit back with some sweet tea and take me with a grain of sugar.
